Priority Topic Assessment
We identified resource efficiency (water and energy) and social contract issues as opportunity areas, and also decided to sterngthen our ethics and integrity initiative. These key areas are reflected in our Grundfos 2020 strategy and in our approach to sustainability, which involves working along 4 main topics: resource efficiency, water, social responsibility and ethics or integrity.
We then narrowed down the topics most relevant to us: product efficiency, reliability and resilence, which have reamined key issues to this day. The company's purpose has always been to help our customers move water to where it is needed, so it is no surprise that the analysis placed water and resources efficiency at the top of our priorities.
We looked at
- (a) Megatrends and regulatory developments to get a sense of where society is moving, and what customer needs will be in the future
- (b) Our values, purpose and strategy
- (c) Where we can do business to support sustainable development
