For tradesmen whose life revolves around water systems, Grundfos’ first ever ‘Plumber Day’ in Kuwait proved a chance too good to miss.

More than 200 local plumbers packed the event, organised by Grundfos in collaboration with Arabi, which was designed to bring them up to date with the latest pump products being introduced to the market, as well as refreshing their knowledge of some existing favourites.

Top billing in the product presentations went to SB, a submersible pump for clean water systems, CMBE, a general purpose domestic and commercial booster and the Scala 2 – one of the latest generation of ‘intelligent’ booster pumps that adjusts automatically to give homeowners perfect water pressure even with multiple taps and showers in operation.

With winter around the corner, the audience was also given a quick refresher on other key Grundfos pumps designed to keep households going when the weather gets tougher. These included everything from the general-purpose PF pump to the PM, UPS and Sololift macerator.

The highlight of the evening turned out to be the ‘Best Installer’ competition, where entrants were able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in a series of hands-on competitions designed to test speed and dexterity in assembling either a UPS circulator or installing PM on a horizontal multi-stage CM.

Rounding-off the busy 3-hour session, a Q & A session was specially designed to test the delegates’ product knowledge, with prizes awarded for the first correct answer to each of seven challenging questions. Winners were also invited to address the audience and share best practice and anecdotes from their experience of working with Grundfos and water systems specialist, Arabi Company.

Speaking after the event, Aaron Alex Fernandes, Sales Manager for Kuwait at Grundfos said, “This was our first event of this type and we planned it meticulously to ensure content was 100% relevant to the audience, and that everyone took something away – whether it was knowledge and familiarity with new or existing pump systems, or having the chance to talk through and trouble-shoot recent real- ife issues. The evening exceeded all of our expectations – I’m sure it will now become a regular diary event for both ourselves and Arabi.”
