Grundfos hosts VIP networking reception on sustainability and climate change

September 27, 2016

On 21st September 2016, Grundfos in conjunction with the Royal Danish Embassy in Lebanon, hosted a VIP networking reception on sustainability and climate change.

Guests of Grundfos included architects, consultants, authorities and partners who were welcomed by the Ambassador to Denmark Svend Waever. During his opening speech he reiterated Denmark’s commitment to climate change referencing the forthcoming COP22 summit which has the highest Government support. Grundfos were able to share the possibilities open to Lebanon to implement a number of sustainable initiatives that could save energy consumption by up to 75% and make significant contributions to CO2 reductions and have a payback of a little over one year as demonstrated in the company’s own  headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark.

Peter Robinson, Area Marketing Manager said, “Pumps account for a massive 10% of the World’s electricity consumption and far too much is pure waste. If everyone switched to high-efficiency pumps, we could save 4% of the world’s total electricity consumption – equivalent to the residential consumption of 1 billion people.”

The event coincided with the 7th Beirut Energy Forum where Grundfos exhibited from 21-23 September  at Le Royal Hotel, Beirut.
