Grundfos Gulf Distribution and new partner Al Arfaj held their first seminar on Optimized Water Solutions in Kuwait on May the 3rd 2017.
Established in Kuwait in 1987, Al Arfaj Engineering Co. WLL have a specialized team involved in supply, service and turnkey solutions for water, wastewater, power, oil & gas and the research & education sectors.
From April 2017, Grundfos Gulf Distribution appointed Al Arfaj Engineering Co. WLL as the first water utility partner to ensure business development and market outreach within the segment in Kuwait. This newly formed partnership within the water utility segment combined with Grundfos’s expertise in water utility sales, service and solution support were the main topics on the event programme.
Technical presentations and other discussions grabbed the attention and interest of the key decision makers who attended the meeting and identified various areas where Grundfos can bring its support and expertise.
The audience was mainly made of Government Authorities in water and wastewater such as MEW (Ministry of Electricity & Water), MPW (Ministry of Public Works), PAHW (Public Authority of Housing Works) as well as consultants and contractors serving them.
The government in Kuwait remains committed to rolling out its ambitious infrastructure development plan despite uncertainty over global oil prices. Infrastructure development featured heavily in the state’s most recent five‐year economic development plan, which predicts $116bn of construction spending on various projects. Although transportation mega‐projects, including a metro and a national rail network, have been delayed, social infrastructure is already benefitting from the spending surge.
Mr Andrea Benvenuti, Grundfos Gulf Sales Director said, “we learnt from a recent assessment that the Kuwaiti Government has realized the need for an infrastructure upgrade and extension. There are many areas of interest for Grundfos in the announced plans, from the development of new townships, to the refurbishment and extensions of its water and sanitation networks, as well as the logistic mega-projects such as a new port and a train and metro system. We strongly believe that Grundfos has a very competitive solution portfolio when it comes to utilities, and we are ready to position ourselves in this segment alongside our newly appointed partner Al Arfaj.”
Participants departed understanding the specific features of S-tube pumps, dedicated controls and GRM and with the message that Grundfos is not only a product manufacturer but also a solution provider.
