In the middle of January Grundfos’ factory in Fresno, California began using 68,641 sq foot of solar panels to supply a large part of the electricity used at the factory. In three months this implementation has generated 563,000 kWh and spared the environment 299 tons of CO2.
This corresponds to taking 60 cars off the roads for an entire year or planting 84 acres of trees.
Before the end of June the plant is expected to generate more than 1 million kWh, which will save the atmosphere an additional 227 tons of CO2.
In this way we have used a hitherto vacant area to reduce our effects on the environment and our expenses on electricity. At the same time we have helped to promote an innovative business model where Suncorp Corporation has delivered the solar panels in co-operation with a finance corporation.
