Grundfos expands its Iranian presence with new office opening in Tehran

Grundfos has been in Iran since 1970’s through its distributors and established with a small office since 2011.

Grundfos, is pleased to announce its expansion in Iran with a new branch office in the capital, to actively support market needs and improve competences with its distinctive range of high quality and efficient pump solutions.

This opening and latest initiatives shows Grundfos long-term commitment to the Iranian market. “Iran is an attractive market for Grundfos. Being the second-ranked regional economy in the Middle East in terms of GDP, and counting 79 million inhabitants, most of them young and in urban areas, the future development of this market will require lots of focus on residential and commercial buildings as well as infrastructure projects such as pumping stations, distribution network, wastewater treatment plants and water treatment processes”, said Henning Sandager Andersen, Area Managing Director, Grundfos Middle East and Turkey.

The grand opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Danny Annan, Danish ambassador to Iran, alongside a number of high level dignitaries such as governmental parties, consultants, distributors and dealers, manufacturers and contractors as well as all of Grundfos Management. His Excellency delivered a speech during the event by which he congratulated Grundfos and wished for the company’s future success, in the development and support of the water utility and infrastructure sector of Iran.

Moreover, His Excellency mentioned that the time is changing and despite all the alarm about the conditions for bilateral trade in Iran, nowadays it is obvious that bilateral trade is developing fast. Water scarcity in Iran is no secret, 20 out of 34 Iranian provinces have either a critical water solution or face water scarcity. 90% of the water consumption in Iran is used in the agricultural and agroindustry and of this 70% is wasted which is not an acceptable situation. According to Iranian vice-president Speech, Iran’s future depends on proper water management. Setting the highest industry standards in energy efficient and sustainable pumping solutions, Grundfos works with local communities and global society to resolve the world’s water and energy challenges, and are therefore naturally ready to support on Irans future water management distribution.

“Grundfos is able to support Iranian society and market and will contribute with more investments in Iran. An energy-conscious agenda and sustainability will be a major driver in Grundfos’ long-term strategy”, concluded Henning.

Event visitors had the chance to discover the new office that also includes a showroom and conference room. The grand opening ceremony was very  remarkable, as all guests were impressed by Grunfos long-term plan and its notable investment in Iran market.
